CHARLES CITY AMERICORPS FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM
The Silhouette Man (190 pages) tells the story of a young person who is determined to make a positive difference in the community, the experiences growing up that shaped his interest in volunteerism and philanthropy, and the senior who mentors him. The book is geared toward adult readers. It was honored as a book that celebrates the wisdom of seniors.
The First Thirty (96 pages) is the condensed version of the same story, geared toward 5th to 12th grade reading level (and adults who prefer shorter stories). A Place To Sit is its optional companion workbook.
The Milkshake Man is the illustrated version of the story, geared toward K-4th grade reading level (and teens and adults who are kids at heart). One Lunch is its optional companion workbook.
