The Silhouette Man by Jillip Naysinthe Paxson tells the story of a young person who wants to make a difference in the world -- and the grandparent who mentors and guides him along the way. It is based on the real-life relationship between Greg and his Grandma, and the lessons she taught him. The book was recognized in Canada with the Wisdom Speaks honor -- given to a book that celebrates the unique wisdom of seniors. The First Thirty (the condensed student edition of the book) was honored as NSDLC Multicultural Relations Book of the Year.
